Madison Gambill

artist statement

 My name is Madison, I am currently a junior at Blue Valley West.

 I took photography this year, because it was a different opportunity that I had here that I didn't have at my previous high school. I'm not necessarily the best artist when it comes to drawing or painting or sculpting, but I find that my strong suit has always been with taking photos.

 I've always loved going out and exploring back roads, pastures, wooded areas, and I always photographed what I found interesting or something that I would not necessarily find here in the city. And I found that taking pictures was a great way of capturing a moment so I can remember it for years to come.

 I have my mom to thank for my inspiration to start taking photos of whatever I found interesting. No matter where we went, she always had a camera of sorts and was always taking photographs.
